Eating disorder reports should be made “across all sports” to better support young people in competitive sport, according to Swimming Australia President Dr Michelle Gallen. “It’s certainly something that the Australian Institute of Sport and our National Institute Network have supported us,” she told Sky News Australia. “We see it as very important in swimming because of the nature of our sport. “From a young age you’re turning up and you’re doing all of your training, all of your competition in a swimsuit, in front of a lot of people- it has its own set of confrontational body image issues.”
