Buses allocated here have a tough life with the town set in a deep valley and north - south travel usually involves steep climbs. Route 36 (renumbered 6 a week later as part of a major Arriva shake up in the town) reaches Britain's biggest village, Bourne End, by way of Flackwell Heath. It leaves the town by way of Marlow Hill having to labour two thirds of the way up, before thankfully branching off to Flackwell along Daws Hill Lane.
