Riding at Laconia Bike Week June 2025

This past week was the 102nd year of Laconia Bike Week, the oldest motorcycle rally in the United States. Locals can take part in all the adventure or, in some cases, rent out their properties to the over 225,000 motorcycle enthusiasts and spectators that come from all over the country and even throughout the world come to the Lakes Region of NH to be a part of this event. I stay here during Bike Week as I live just 4 miles from the epicenter of the event at Weirs Beach and I love everything about it. Laconia Bike Week takes place all over the state including Weirs Beach and High Octane Saloon in Laconia, “riding to the sky” up the of Mt Washington auto road in Gorham, riding the twists and turns of the Kancamangus Hwy through Crawford Notch, checking out the bikes, gear, and vendors at Laconia Harley Davidson in Meredith, watching the antique bikes do the Tower Hill Climb at Weirs Beach, riding to Bentleys Saloon in Maine. There are fund raising rides, memorial rides such POW/MIA ride ending in Hesky Park in Meredith and the Peter Makris Memorial Ride out of the Naswa resort in Laconia, and of course the gypsy tour that started it all in 1916. Being a rider myself, though, what seems to draw other riders from all over the world is the opportunity to ride on country roads through woods and mountains and passed lakes and seacoast all in one day. When you are not riding, watch live music out of doors, boat on Lake Winnipesaukee or one of the other many lakes here, ride the scenic train from Laconia to Meredith, or dance on the historic MS Mt Washington docked at Weirs Beach. You can end the day with fantastic food from some of my favorite restaurants such as the Breeze on the Bay in Meredith, Rubbin Butts BBQ in Center Harbor, the DOX on Winnisquam, or Ellacoya Barn & Grille in Gilford.
