These are the two most frequently used tools when building 3D models in Part Design, and they can do much more than a simple extrusion or cut. You’ll learn how the Pad operation can be created not only as a basic one-sided extrusion but also as Two-sided and Symmetric. We also cover the most practical pad types, such as Up to face, To first, and To last, including the Offset to face option for fine control. Next, we do the same for the Pocket operation: standard depth pockets, Through all, Up to face, To first, and symmetrical/two-sided pockets. We also discuss an important practical detail: Through all can affect multiple solids if you allow multiple solids inside one Body - so in many cases, Up to face is the safer and more predictable option. Finally, I show how to use the Taper angle in both Pad and Pocket operations to create draft angles - either widening or narrowing the walls depending on the angle sign.
