Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Giants of Africa, the basketball organization founded by Masai Ujiri, President of the Toronto Raptors, made its first visit to Ethiopia to host a youth basketball camp March 1st to March 2nd, 2025 at International Community School of Addis Ababa. The initiative aimed to engage and empower the youth of Addis-Ababa through the sport of basketball. The visit marked a significant milestone as Giants of Africa expands its reach to the 20th African country since its inception in 2003. The organization was honored to host both Ervin Jose Massinga, the United States Ambassador to Ethiopia, and Joshua Tabah, the Canadian Ambassador to Ethiopia, at the camp. Masai Ujiri shared his enthusiasm about bringing Giants of Africa to Ethiopia for the first time, stating, "We are honored to bring Giants of Africa to Ethiopia. Basketball is more than just a game; it's a tool for transformation.
