Ypres Historic Rally 2022 - SS5: Boezinge 3 - all cars (double pass) (raw footage)

The last run on SS Boezinge for the 29th Ypres Historic Rally. This stage had a short version that was driven yesterday evening, and a longer version that was driven twice today. In the last of today's 3 loops this stage is not driven so this is the last pass. The video is at the same location as my video from yesterday evening, but now in daylight instead of in the dark. The stage was won by Paul Lietaer (Opel Ascona 400) who was 6.94 seconds faster than Pieter-Jan Maeyaert (102, BMW E30 M3). Lietaer took the lead back from Maeyaert on SS4 and has now an advantage of 8.57 seconds. Maeyaert however made a small mistake (elsewhere), he touched a haybale what made his car spin in the wrong direction, he had to reverse to take the corner. He also was flirting with the limit on his 2nd pass but it went well at this location. Cedriek Merlevede (103, Opel Ascona B) was 3rd here on +16.75, what makes him reclaim the 3rd place overall as well, he is now on +1:30.17. Ludovic Vitse (108, Opel Astra GSi 16V) who was 3rd before, retired on this stage, but Merlevede also went over Fredericq Delplace (104, Porsche 911) who lost about a minute here and is now 4th on +2:14.88. James Gruwez (117, Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16V) was 5th here on +37.64. And 5th in the overall classification is Claude Debue (113, Opel Ascona A) on +2:32.39, who jumps over Mathieu Vandoolaeghe (112, Mercedes-Benz 190E Diesel).
