After the last trip on the Solent with two lovely tope, I decided I wanted to try for a bigger one, so I headed back down the fish the same mark and two weeks previously. I thought the tides would be smaller this time, oh boy, I was wrong 🤣. The tide was tearing through the Solen, and holding bottom became a serious challenge, let alone fishing. An old guy decided he would chuck his anchor over mine and then proceeded to try and cut through it with his engine in gear and then smash into my boat. There was more weed than you could shake a stick at; it was like tumbleweed on the line, the size of footballs after 30 minutes. Despite all that, I landed two lovely Tope and a new PB before heading in early due to the weather and being completely knackered. Lots more Whaly action coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled...
