Inspired by NGE, Gundam 00 & Code Geass, I drew my OC in a mecha AU (⁠~⁠‾⁠▿⁠‾⁠)⁠~ Real Time: 9 hours, 11 mins. Completed on 13/10/2025. I use CSP & Huion Kamvas 13 Gen 3. The primary brushes I use is the generic, unmodified G-Pen for lineart & mili pen for colouring. The rest are some random ones I found in the library and used for effects. In the future, I'll make these speedpaints around 15 minutes. I've noticed many other artists do it like this, and 30 seems a bit too much! I promise I'll try get better, this is my first full footage of a speedpaint. "Thought Process" Segment (FEEL FREE TO SKIP!): ★ ★ I like impressionistic art styles, so seeing the brushstrokes for me is purposeful. I do like clean artworks for sure, but I also like these types which seem to breathe life. Do you like the piece? ★ ★ Not necessarily. Not only is this not my "vibe" per se, I just don't like how many things look. For instance, the eyes or the face in general. ★ ★ Compositionally speaking, it's alright. It's my OC in a cockpit. However, I adore pieces with a lot more symbolism and different compositions. I'm not at that level yet. ★ ★I know the lighting sets the mood for cold, apocalyptic vibes, but I just don't seem to like it personally speaking. I prefer ethereal, light and brighter pieces. What would you do differently next time? ★ ★ I will always try out new themes, so I'm not excluding any themes in the future. However, I'd like to change my style when it comes to the eyes and face in general. I really love glittery eyes, so I'll try adding that. ★ ★ I'm wondering if I could try making the body more dynamic, as well. I'm not sure how, but it feels like he's sitting there a bit too statically, or oddly? What did you like? ★ ★ I adore the process of adding effects at the end, it's one of my favourite parts of drawing. ★ ★ Were the effects necessary? Yes, I like adding them. I like the chaotic, messy vibe to it. ★ ★ I always struggle with hair, but I like how this one turned out. It looks nice and soft.
