Chaturmas is going on. Shravan i.e. the month of Sawan is the first month of Chaturmas. It is believed that when Lord Vishnu departs to Hades for his sleeping period, then the reins of the earth are handed over to Lord Shiva. In the first month of Chaturmas, Lord Shiva, along with Mother Parvati, visits the earth and blesses the devotees of Shiva. According to the Sawan Monday Panchang, the third Monday of Sawan is on 09 August 2021. This day is Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Shravan month.
