Thousands of California Muslims gathered for Eid al-Fitr prayers in San Diego on Sunday (March 30) to mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The prayer service, which was organized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), was held at the San Diego Convention Center with both men and women attending. Leading the service, Imam Taha Hassane of the Islamic Center of San Diego, made calls for peace, especially in Gaza. “We should not forget those who are suffering from wars, atrocities and genocide, whether in Gaza or anywhere in the world. May God grant them peace and ease their situation,” Hassane told worshippers.
