The tranquil village of Annaberg im Lammertal lies at an altitude of 778 meters in the heart of the Dachstein-West-Lammertal region. The "Imperial City" of Bad Ischl or Salzburg, about 60 km away, with its numerous attractions, also invite you to take a day trip. The Dachstein West region stretches across the border between Upper Austria and Salzburger Land and is a popular holiday destination for many ski enthusiasts. Magnificent panoramas and a diverse, extensive range of winter sports and après-ski activities have been captivating visitors to the region for years. The focus is not on competitive alpine sports, but rather on a winter atmosphere for regular skiers and families. In addition to the wide slopes, pros will also find challenging deep-snow runs, for example at the Zwieselalm. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will find a well-developed network of approximately 223 km of trails in the Dachstein-West region. Alpine skiers can circumnavigate the entire ski area on skis. From the summit of the Hornspitz, the trail leads over the Mittelkamm and the Edtalm to the Riedlkopf. From there, you can reach the other side of the ski area – Annaberg in the Lammertal. A new eight-seater gondola operates between Riedlkopf and Annaberg, allowing for quick access to the extensive ski areas. The ski area is very child-friendly, and the child-friendly infrastructure ensures a pleasant family vacation. Children's parks with attractions and lifts, including a practice area, have been built in Gosau and Russbach. In Gosau, children can try out their own ski cross course and compete for their best time on the slalom course. In Russbach, there is a freestyle park with its own ski area. Children from one year old can visit the Spatzennest children's club, whose mascot is Bruno the Bear. Guests in Russbach have free admission. There are several cross-country ski trails. Near Gosau, there are two, 15 and 16 km long. On the other side of the ski area, near Lungötz, there is a 30 km long trail. All starting points are connected by ski buses. Annaberg im Lammertal is a village in the Lammertal valley in the state of Salzburg, and a village and cadastral municipality of the municipality of Annaberg-Lungötz in the district of Hallein. The village has a population of 767 (as of January 1, 2022[1]). The village is located on the Lammer River, in the upper Lammertal valley, 30 km southeast of Hallein and 9 km beyond Abtenau on the B 162 Lammertal road, between the confluences of Sulzbach and Rauchenbach, both from the Bischofsmütze mountain. To the left lie the Tennengebirge Mountains, to the right the Dachstein massif with the Gosaukamm ridge, and to the south the Bischofsmütze, the local mountain of the Lammertal valley.
