As the cradle for the development of a new generation of aircraft, the JF-22 hypersonic wind tunnel can reproduce flight conditions at an altitude of 40 to 90 kilometers and a speed of up to 10 kilometers per second, which is equivalent to about 30 times the speed of sound. The flow field blown out of the JF-22 wind tunnel has a diameter of 2.5 meters, which can accommodate larger aircraft for testing. When the flow field velocity is Mach 10, JF-22 can last for 40 milliseconds, the experimental temperature ranges from 2,500 degrees Celsius to 18,000 degrees Celsius, and the total pressure ranges from 100 atmospheres to 10,000 atmospheres. The JF-12 reproduction wind tunnel successfully developed in 2012, with a total length of 265 meters, became the largest and most advanced shock wave wind tunnel in the world at that time. The JF-12 reproduction wind tunnel and the JF-22 hypersonic wind tunnel are the shock wave wind tunnels with the largest scale and the most advanced performance in the corresponding fields, making my country the only country in the field of hypersonics that has the ability to cover all "flight corridors" experiments.
