Learn steeking! Sponsored by the @handsonknittingcenter1294 this FREE one-hour class will cover everything you need to know about steeking, demonstrated on a gorgeous autumnal knit headband. Stranded colorwork is most easily worked in the round. Which is great when you want a pullover. But if you want a cardigan, your choice is to work it flat or to steek it. A steek is simply an area roughly 7 stitches wide that we add to a piece to later cut and pick up stitches. They can be added for V-necks, sleeves, or button bands. In the Intro to Steeking we will knit a headband in the round using the Falling into Autumn motif that is also in the Steeked Cardigan KAL. It also acts as your gauge swatch for the cardi. Molly will show you three options for steeking and talk about a 4th. The steeking options vary with the type of yarn you use. SIGN UP FOR THE FALLING INTO AUTUMN CARDIGAN KAL: https://AutumnCardiganKAL.eventbrite.com We then pick up and knit stitches on the headband to add tapering around the ears and back of the neck with three options on how to finish it: Icord straps, button band, or grafting.
