The West Express a three-person fixed grip chairlift located at West Mountain in Queensbury NY. The chairlift starts at the main base area and runs all the way to the summit of the mountain. This Poma triple chairlift was originally built at Haystack Mountain (now known as the Hermitage Club) in 1985 as the Barnstormer Trie but was moved over to West Mountain in 2015 when the Barnstormer lift got replaced with the heated bubble six-pack, and replaced a 1962 Riblet double chairlift at West Mountain. This lift is the main out-of-base lift at the main West Mountain base area and serves the entire main face of the mountain. This lift also features a loading carpet so then they can run this lift as fast as possible. This lift was the first of many lifts installed under Apex Capital’s ownership in their effort to modernize West Mountain. Overall, this lift is pretty good at what it does and should be sticking around for a long time.
