This video shows how to solve the moving/rocking seats on a BMW Z3. This is a video of how I have done it. I take no responsibility for any damages you do to your car. If you are unsure of how to proceed, please contact a professional mechanic. The problem occurs when you accelerate or break, then the seat will slide a couple of millimeters. Even when the BMW Z3 were quite new the problems with the rocking seats could occur. Now when our cars have been around for some years most of us will suffer the slip or rocking of the seats. This video is a go through video of what the cause is and how to fix that quite easy. It will require me to take the seat out of the car, so it may be a good idea to have someone to help to lift the seat to save ones back and not scratch the interior. The cause of the problem is bushings that gets worn out, in my case totally disintegrated. As this is a known problem, I won’t go to BMW and buy the bushing that is needed. The new bushings that we need is available online for about 10 euros, or 10 dollars depending on where you are located. ;) That’s for 2 seats! A search on for example Amazon for “BMW Z3 bushing” will give you result. In the video it is done on a BMW Z3 M Roadster 1998 (Europe version), but this will be the same on any year of the Z3 including both the Roadster and the Coupe. Difficulty 3/10 Greasiness 5/10 Time spent 30-60 minutes. The tools needed: The bushings (4 per seat) 13mm hex 16mm hex Torx, T25 Torx, T50 Some cleaning rags Thinner or equal solvent to clean with Grease for lubrication Please subscribe to the channel for more fixin’ videos.
