Here is a quick video on how to change out the extended floor plate on a Troy BattleMag to the flush floor plate. Eye protection is recommended. The first step is to press down on the extended floor plate to release it. Now hold the magazine in your knees with the front of the magazine facing forward. I am using two Magpul plastic dummy rounds in the video. You can use something similar, preferably plastic, so you don't damage the magazine. Using the dummy rounds, press in on the side tabs of the floor plate while the center floor plate is pushed down. Be careful because the magazine spring will release with some force once the floor plate is opened. Now remove the extended floor plate and replace it with the flush floor plate. The solid rectangle side is the non-spring side. Replace the floor plate assembly rear side first. Now push down on the center rectangle first then push down on the floor plate to lock the tabs into the body of the magazine. Tap a few times to seat the magazine floor plate.
