On October 17th, 2015, Justin Trudeau made one final stop in Winnipeg for a speech, just 2 days before the election. Josh Sigurdson and John Doull waited in line for an hour as the line up for the event which was hardly well announced went for more than 2 blocks as eager fans grinned with enthusiasm over the idea of seeing Justin Trudeau (the all-mighty) in person. As thousands filled a small room, rave music was blasted as well as a few top 40 songs and the candidates for MP who were strategically placed behind Trudeau for the cameras danced to the music. It was like some kind of creepy cult event. There was not an inch of space to move. After confirming where Trudeau would be coming in, we stood ready to shake his hand and ask him a few things. RCMP was tipped off about us and so was secret service. Trudeau was rerouted through the swimming pool area the long way around to avoid us. We attempted to walk through the crowd only for a giant RCMP officer to follow us as we passed by women swooning over Trudeau, in some cases carrying a rose they had bought just for him. One woman we passed even proclaimed her happiness over helping fund Justin Trudeau's private jet. We made our way out the back door past some secret service to wait for him to leave. We told the secret service they didn't have to worry. They told us to keep our hands out of our pockets and not to light any cigarettes. Justin Trudeau came out of the building, John and Josh chased him down. Secret service men freaked out and tried jumping in front of Josh as he bashed Justin Trudeau over Bill C-51 and the infringement of civil liberties with or without Justin's amendments. While they closely followed, Josh flashed his anti-bill c-51 pin through the bus window at Trudeau as the bus eventually took off to the airport. It will not be the last time we speak to Mr. Trudeau. He must be held accountable for playing the part of the employer instead of the reality of the employee. Different puppet, same master.
