In 1996 people in Brighton took over North Road and held a mini festival to protest at cars having precedent over pedestrians in the city centre. Bands played and a bouncy castle was put up using electricity from supportive local businesses. The police eventually cleared the area making many arrests. This is unedited footage as it came off the tape. Bands performing are 'Tragic Roundabout' and 'Flannel' 'Reclaim the streets' protests took place all over the UK in the 1990's and were linked to the Anti-Road Building campaigns of the era, Twyford Down, Newbury Bypass, M11 link Road etc.
