Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at how the SeaSucker Monkey Bars fit on a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. Because of the unique design of the Hyundai Veloster, you don't really have that many options for carrying cargo outside of your car. So, ideally I would recommend getting a hitch or a custom fit roof rack, but in this case because of how you have that window up top, a vacuum cup mounted roof rack like the SeaSuckers is gonna be your best bet. So let's talk about the different lengths that are available for this vehicle, where I have it installed, and let's see if this will work for you and whatever you're carrying around. You can put this wherever you want on your roof. But note where I have it placed. I have it pretty much as far forward as I can get it, so we have the stability of our front. And then for the back, I have it far enough where we still have crossfire spread. Center to center, 26 inches. But not too far where it's on the hatch. Even with it in that position though, if you wanna carry around the roof box or a roof basket, your options for length will be a little bit limited. So try to get a roof box that you can slide as much forward as you can, or give up the use of opening up your hatch all the way. For roof clearances, there's two important measurements. One is how much space do you have from the roof to the bottom of your crossbar Well, with this you have a little bit of an angle. So for example, it's gonna be three and a quarter inches of clearance here. But, in the back it's just a little over three inches. So it's still a good amount of space for clamps that go around the crossbar. And your cargo is gonna be measured from the roof to the top of the crossbar, about four and a half inches up here. So that's gonna be where your cargo sits. If you're carrying skis and snowboards with extra tall bindings, you wanna make sure there's enough clearance. And if there's not, you can get accessories that give you that clearance. The crossbars have a weight capacity of 150 pounds, which is actually a little less than most of your custom fit roof racks, but still a good amount of weight capacity. This uses vacuum cups to secure to your roof, so they have a lot of pull strength as well. And this uses round crossbars, so those are not as aerodynamic as your arrow bars. And you do have to double check your accessories and make sure they work around round crossbars. There are six of these vacuum cups total. So when you adhere it to your roof, notice how you lift this tab to release the vacuum. You can then lift the cup up. And then when you place it, you just push down on that vacuum cup and depress the plunger. You need to keep doing that, until there's no longer any orange that is visible. Right there. So when I leave this on my roof for days at a time, in the morning, I just depress the plunger and we're good to go again. So I have the 48 inch long bar version, which I think works really well with this vehicle. You want shorter crossbars. That way if you're getting into your car, you're not slamming your head against extra long crossbars. But if you want, you can get the extension kit, which increases this from 48 to 60 inches. That's good if you need more space for your larger cargo, but not as ideal because your weight capacity does not increase with longer bars. So for your Hyundai Veloster, if you need to carry around something on your roof, this is probably gonna be your best bet for your vehicle. This placement, this bar length is what I highly recommend if you are going to go the SeaSucker vacuum cup mounted route. Now there are cons to it as well, like less weight capacity as well as using round bars. So hopefully this video helped you see how that works out, and if it will work for you and your cargo. So some things to keep in mind is if you are using this to carry a roof box, try to get a shorter roof box or one that can use slid forward so that you can still get full access to your hatch, since that's also a lot of cargo space it would be nice to utilize. That right there was a look at how the SeaSucker
