In today's episode of Shoe Care Academy; Megell will share all the tips and tricks needed to provide your mesh sneakers with the deepest and most effective clean possible. After Megell rocked this comfort sneaker to a video shoot in Sedona, Arizona these were completely trashed and covered in red dirt. Now we know that not everyone has an air compressor, but dry brushing is HIGHLY important to get the best clean possible on your kicks. For the next step of this cleaning Megell started scrubbing the entire uppers using the three different shoe cleaning brushes that RESHOEVN8R offers. The main benefit of these 3 brushes is that they are designed for sneakers and they allow you to clean each and every part of the sneaker without causing any damage. When cleaning sneakers the pretreatment is just as important as the laundry system. The pretreatment allows you to break down any service dust to avoid pushing the dirt further into the materials. This red clay is notorious for staining your sneakers, so it is important to do anything to avoid pushing it into the trickier materials. After the pretreatment was completed it was important to put the sneaker in the patented Laundry System. The Laundry System includes a Laundry bag, Shoe Trees and Laundry Detergent. All three of these products are crucial for providing your mesh, knit or canvas sneakers with the deepest clean possible. We washed the sneaker on the normal cycle using the cold water option. It is INCREDIBLY important that you wash your sneakers with cold water or it can cause damage. After removing them from the wash and allowing them to dry; we noticed that the red clay had still stained the shoe just a little bit. For this Megell relied on a quick clean with our Solution and our handheld steamer. The benefit of this is to penetrate deep into the materials and remove any trapped in dirt. However, with mesh sneakers you can always put them in the washing machine one more time for a deeper clean. NOT all shoes come completely clean after just 1 round; it is all dependent on how dirty the shoe is.
