HMS Prince of Wales returns to Portsmouth after taking on munitions in Scotland ahead of Carrier Strike Group 25 to the Indo-Pacific. The flagship aircraft carrier returned from a short trip to sea while working-up to their major deployment as the UK Carrier Strike Group in the Indo-Pacific this year (2025). The aircraft carrier will join other warships on the deployment, work with allied nations and make a special port visit Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan. It is one of the two largest ships in the Royal Navy and the second Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier. Several police boats of the Ministry of Defence Police escorted the military vessel into Portsmouth Harbour. The channel was closed for all marine traffic while the movement took place. Tugs from Serco escorted the aircraft carrier under its own steam and provided assistance known as 'indirect towing' as it departed. A crowd of supporters gathered to see the warship back to base.
