http://www.onepcbsolution.com In this video, the hard drive has a fried circuit board as a result of a power surge. It was repaired by using a replacement circuit board. If you need a replacement circuit board for your hard drive, try our website at http://www.onepcbsolution.com. If you have any questions, email us at info@onepcbsolution.com A direct swap like the one shown in this video is no longer possible for most of the new drives. We have a solution for that, it's called a firmware transfer. This means the small amount of data stored on the board needs to be moved from the original board onto the new board. Our boards all include this service, but we'll need you to mail the dead board to us. Example: http://www.onepcbsolution.com/fitr.html For Seagate / Maxtor drives, anything made AFTER Barracuda 7200.10 or DiamondMax 21 needs a firmware transfer. For WD drives, a direct swap will work maybe 5 - 10% of the time, because WD uses a wide variety of firmware + disk head configurations for every model. A firmware transfer is always recommended. For Hitachi / Toshiba: a firmware transfer is always necessary. For Samsung: a firmware transfer is needed for most drives over 500GBs. If you are unsure, feel free to email us with your drive's model.
