About Poornima Rao: Poornima Rao is a product manager at Bio-Rad Laboratories, in the Bio-Rad Explorer Program, which supports biotechnology education with practical skills and resources. Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc., based in Hercules, California, is a global leader in life science research and Clinical Diagnostics. Previously, she managed the National Biotechnology Education Center for over 8 years, was an adjunct professor at Austin Community College, and has over 10 years industry experience in product development and manufacturing. As for her musical side, Poornima comes from a musical family; her foundation came from her mother, sister and received advanced instruction from Guru A.V. Prakash. She is a skilled Carnatic vocalist and Veena player. She enjoys composing music, and is active in music organizations.
