"In 1964 Milan Tesar finished his musical education at the Prague Conservatory and took up his work as a musical teacher at the Prague ‘People's Conservatory'. Tesar spent the period from 1969-1971 in Italy teaching and performing. Since 1973 he had been teaching again in Prague and concentrated on his compositions, parts which have been published at Edition Lemoine in Paris; Edition Supraphon in Prague and at Edition Daminus in Walsrode (Germany). His music contains classical elements influenced by the Czech and Bohemian tradition and is also inspired by ‘Music from the West’ like Blues and Jazz. I had a link to his music as a student, listening to his music and playing his songs while studying the guitar, and later through my publisher Edition Daminus, who published among the Four Ballad Stories some more of his compositions."
