Celebrating Richard Gill AO Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) Symphony No. 1, Op. 21 (1801) I. Adagio molto – Allegro con brio Performance by Young Mannheim Symphonists Director Rachael Beesley The Young Mannheim Symphonists, presented by the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra and directed by Rachael Beesley and Nicole van Bruggen, from 2017 and 2018 reunited in November 2018 for a special concert to honour the life of our Founding Artistic Director, Richard Gill AO. The youth orchestra performed the first movement of Symphony No.1 by Beethoven, directed by Rachael Beesley. Musicians from the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Sydney and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras mentored the students and performed alongside them in concert to celebrate Richard’s life.
