I'm back out in the Valley after how long? I have no Idea but it's been a minute! This lowrider cruise night in the 818 valley was originally supposed to be on Van Nuys Blvd with low lows cruising and all that good stuff but I kid you not, I was like 10-15 minutes away from arriving when the event wa cancelled. The reason why this was sort of a big deal is because from where I live, the traffic to get out this way was real bad. Spent almost 2 hours when usually it'll take an hour or less with regular/no traffic. So off we go (came with my brother and his homie) back on the road to see if we could hit a different spot. Luckily we didn't go too far off when I saw that the cruise was relocated to a different spot. The new location was at a Home Depot parking lot and while word got around about the relocation, we were chopping it up with some homies we bumped into out this way. From there, riders were coming through and I was able to catch a nice chunk of the roll in. After all that I started walking around getting footage of the parked cars and man, there were some real beauties out here sitting on wires! A little bit of everything was to be seen here such as G body lowriders, 1964 Impala lowriders, Cadillac Lowriders, Lincoln Lowriders, Lowrider Bombs, Choppers, Mini Truck Lowriders and so on and on...shoot, even Donks were present at this event. The significance of this cruise was to celebrate 818 day (08/18 on the calendar) so in past years it went down on Van Nuys Blvd. As to what happened this time around, only speculation and rumors are floating around. Most likely the police/city officials weren't too happy about the idea of this cruise but in the end, while not on the Boulevard, the night was rescued.
