This Temple has two main entrances, one can be accessed from the Main Road of the City and the other entrance can be accessed from the Palace of Amer. This Temple complex was built by Queen Kankawathi in memory of her son Jagat Singh in 1608 AD. This beautiful Temple is dedicated to Sri Krishna and His renowned Devotee Meera Bai. This Temple is located very close to the Amer Fort. The Idol of Sri Krishna was believed to have installed here by Meera Bai around 600 years ago. It is believed that Meera Bai was very much fond of this Temple and used to visit it as much as possible. It is a unique Temple where the Presiding Deity of Sri Krishna is seen along with His Disciple and Saint Poet Sri Meera Bai in the same Sanctum Sanctorum. The same Idols which were Worshipped in Mewar are seen here. The Sanctum Sanctorum comprises of several pillars which are intricately carved. This Temple is considered as one of the ancient Temples in and around Jaipur dedicated to Maha Vishnu. This Idol was safe guarded by the Rulers and kept in Mewar State when they fought the Mughal invaders. Looking at the Architecture it is evident that there is a blend of Nagara Style with a touch of Rajput, Jain and Moghul. Meera Bai was an ardent Devotee of Sri Krishna and She used to write many poetries and Bhajans in this Temple. It also houses other Hindu Deities, Mythological figures, Musicians etc. This Temple is often visited by followers of the Bakthi Movement. More People visit this Temple during Janmashtami.
