1 YEAR OFF GRID - Everything we did! / Amazing Land Transformation

Welcome to our homesteading journey where we found an overgrown piece of farm land in the remote mountains of South Africa 1 year ago. Here’s a look at everything we’ve done during our first year on the land. We began building a bathroom so we had the basic amenities like a toilet and hot shower then it was time to move our van onto the property. Since we had already been living in the van for 3 and a half years this was the perfect cosy space to live out of as we set up a base camp and got to work on all the projects we had in mind. We clear the property, make garden beds and begin learning to grow our own food. We get access to water and irrigate the entire citrus orchard. Preparing for the summer heat we build a roof over our van for much needed shade and finally set up a fully offgrid setup to install on the roof. A luxurious addition is a wood fired hot tub from Carbo being the perfect spot to unwind. We purchase our dream farm truck a 1978 Land Rover Series 3 and build a carport for the winter rains ahead. We then get to work on building a 5 meter geodesic dome as an extension of our tiny home and living space. We furnish the interior and couldn’t be happier with this new addition.
