I Left Everything Behind to Start Over in Finland EP39 Spring has arrived, or so the calendar says. But here in the deep woods of Finland, spring feels more like a quiet kind of winter. The snow hasn’t left. The wind still bites. And the silence? It runs deeper than ever. I'm back at the off grid log cabin I bought not long ago this old place I now call home. But this time, I’ve returned alone. I brought Billy and Lucky, my two cats, to Cyprus for the winter. It’s safer there. Warmer. Quieter in a different way. I’ll bring them back in a few weeks, once things thaw. For now, it's just me. The snow. And the work ahead. When I stepped out of the woods and saw the cabin again buried in snow, silent, waiting it felt like returning to another world. The roof held. The walls stood firm. But the woodshed floor? Half of it is rotted through. The ground beneath is wet. And my last stack of firewood is almost gone. At night, temperatures still fall below freezing. I’ve got two days maybe less to cut more firewood, repair the floor, and bring some order back to this place before the cold takes control again. There’s no electricity here. No roads. No help. Just an axe, a frozen forest, and time that runs out faster than you'd think. Thanks for walking this path with me. #logcabin #cabinlife #offgridliving
