Today’s video is about DIY moulds, how to make homemade resin moulds and DIY crafts resin moulding ideas. Today I'm going to be talking about moulds - everything about moulds, different mediums to use with the moulds, and the differences between all the various mediums that you've heard of. Each one has its own unique characteristics with the moulds, so depending on what you're using, you're going to have to apply it or do it a slightly different way. I'm also going to explain what to expect with the different products, so I'm going to talk about what it's going to look like once it's done. You've probably heard about resin. There's casting resin, and you've also probably heard about modeling clay. There's modeling material that resin is used to carry. There are a lot of different things you can use to fill the moulds and they're even food-safe, so you can even use them for cake fondant to make fancy chocolates, butter, or many other applications. Making a mould for resin can be done with many materials, but the most common are silicone and plaster. Silicone moulds are easy to make and they are also reusable. If you want to make a silicone mould, you need to prepare the silicone first. The next step is to pour it into the desired shape and let it cool down. You can then use this mould to create pieces of jewelry or other objects that you want. Plaster moulds are also easy to make and they need less preparation than silicone ones do. You just need some plaster, water, and a container that will act as your mold. Mix these three ingredients together in the container until they form a thick paste-like consistency. Then press your object into this mixture so it takes its shape and let it dry. Making your own resin moulds is not an easy task. But with these tips, you can make sure that you are doing it the right way. • Use silicone or rubber to create a flexible mould. • Make sure that the mould is airtight and watertight. • Cover the mould in petroleum jelly or Vaseline to prevent air bubbles from forming in between layers of resin. • Use a release agent like Vaseline on areas where you don't want the resin to stick to, like glass or metal surfaces. • Mix up your resin according to instructions on the package and pour it into your mold. • Wait for it to dry before removing the mould from around it. DIY crafts are a great way to get creative and use your imagination. There are many DIY crafts that you can do with resin moulding. Some of the most popular DIY crafts include making jewelry, floral arrangements, home decor items, and more. There are many different materials that you can use for this type of project. Each material has its own benefits and drawbacks so it all depends on what you want to make with your DIY craft project. A homemade resin mold can be used to create a cast of any object. The process is simple and inexpensive, but it does require some patience. A person can make a mold out of plaster or silicone rubber by covering the object in liquid latex and then pouring plaster over it. Once the plaster has dried, the latex is peeled off and the mold is ready for casting. The person can pour the melted plastic resin into the mold to create a copy of their original object.
