iPhone Prores 422 HQ Samsung SSD T7 Shield USB C Adapter Test. USB to USB-C Adapter iPhone 16 Pro Max Test. Testing the Ugreen USB to USB-C Adapter on iPhone 16 Pro Max. Tested with the Samsung T7 Shield portable SSD I don’t have a speed test app for iPhone but I didn’t really need an app to test this. On iPhone 16 Pro Max the biggest reason to use an external USB-C SSD like the Samsung T7 Shield is to record ProRes 422 HQ on your iPhone directly to an external SSD. If that works, it’s fine for me and it did work with the T7 shield and the USB to USB-C adapter. Normally you would plug in the USB-C to USB-C directly without using any USB-C adapter but in this video, I wanted to see it the adapter would be fast enough for the highest data rate with the ProRes 422 HQ high bitrate when recording 4K 120 ProRes directly on a portable SSD. In this video I’m testing on iPhone the green USB-C to USB-A or USB-A to USB-C adapter. I’m not sure how to call them as Ugreen calls them the same way and only the product code is different. This converts your regular USB type-A cable to work with USB-C devices. This usb adapter is USB 3.2 Gen 2 and it supports speeds up to 10 GBps o that’s great. Maximum charging 18W so these will not be useful for fast charging but what you would use these for is high speed data transfer. It will run at slower speeds in compatibility mode just as most usb adapters. I already had a few cheap usb USB-C to USB-A adapters that were really slow and only one good adapter. These were really cheap so I bought 1 set to have when needed. USB Type-A is the old big square connector and USB Type-C is the modern small reversible connector. With some adapter and device combinations the USB transfer speed might drop to USB 2.0 speeds. If that happens to you, try reversing the USB-C port or remove any USB extension you might use for that port and you should be back to full speed. A simple way to check USB 3.0 compatibility is by looking at the connectors inside the port. USB 3.0 cables have extra pins compared to USB 2.0, and I’ll explain exactly where to look. This is useful if you need a faster connection for data transfer or charging. USB 2.0 has 4 pins USB 3.0 and above has the same 4 pins as USB 2.0 as and an additional row of 5 pins / connectors. For troubleshooting slow transfer speeds or just want to confirm your cable type, this tutorial will help. Check your USB cables easily and make sure you’re getting the best performance.
