It's madcap mayhem a-go-go as men from all walks of historical life fight each other to control a planet. With crazy speech provided by professional actors, Mega-Lo-Mania is a feast of far-out fun for anyone! GAMEPLAY: Mega lo Mania is a strategy game focused on resource gathering and weapons research. Each stage you start with population of 100 men. Any left over population will be carried over to the next stage. It is required that you save up some population for later stages because enemies develop much quicker later on in the game. You can throttle time for faster research and resource gathering. Time manipulation is global and affects AI as well. Defense weapons are placed in slots above buildings up to a maximum of 10. However, enemy AI keeps harassing and destroying these weapons all the time. In late game you play isolated islands with nuclear weapons. Building defenses becomes the only viable way to protect yourself against nuclear attacks. Unarmed men are able to participate in battles but they are unable to inflict any damage to buildings. Enemy AI likes to explore and build. They usually don't care about research during that phase. Securing an alliance prevents AI from capturing new bases altogether. Cornered AI's develop much quicker and attack in full force. Each sector of an island has pre-set quantity of resources. Islands stay the same every time you play. There's no noticeable difference between 4 playable characters other than their avatar and banner. Difference between Sega Genesis / Mega Drive version and Super Nintendo (SNES) version: Gameplay mechanics are exactly the same. Each level is exactly the same in both versions right down to quantity of resources available in each sector. In short both consoles have exact same game but Super Nintendo version looks better, has better sound and convenient menus. SNES version supports forming 3-way alliance but Sega Genesis version doesn't. Originally submitted to www.emu-land.net as Snes9x replay file. This is my original replay.
