Claire didn’t start out in the creative world. With a background in accounting, she spent several years working as an auditor and accountant before turning her love of quilting into a business. While expecting her first baby and planning for maternity leave, Claire took a leap — investing the money she’d made from selling handmade items on Etsy into her very first fabric order. From cutting fabric in her sewing room to opening a bricks-and-mortar shop, Claire has built a beautiful space full of quilting fabrics, kits, and tools — and fostered a warm, supportive community of makers along the way. In this conversation, Claire shares how she got started, the story of her very first quilt project with her mum, and what she’s learned from growing a small business alongside motherhood.
