About Ettore Sottsass Ettore Sottsass (1917–2007), founder of the Memphis Group, is one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Italian design. Known for his bold colors, playful forms, and radical approach, his work spans furniture, jewelry, lighting, interiors, and architecture. For over 30 years, Sottsass collaborated with Olivetti, creating iconic products such as the Elea 9003, Italy’s first electronic calculator. Today, his designs are featured in the permanent collections of leading museums, including: the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) the Centre Pompidou (Paris) the Victoria & Albert Museum (London)
