In November of 2016 California voters passed Proposition 64, the Adult Use of Marijuana Act. San Franciscans overwhelmingly approved Prop 64 by nearly 75%. This episode of What’s Next SF explores the 2015 creation of the San Francisco Cannabis State Legalization Task Force, as well as the SF Office of Cannabis, and early steps taken to create a permitting structure in time for the January 2018 deadline, amid predictions of tremendous economic and social benefits to cities which implement the new law.
