On Monday, April 7, the 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀 kicked off with @Davide Aria of @Pluribus One on the urgent implications of the 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁 (𝗖𝗥𝗔). 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: Which are the products impacted by the CRA? The ACT identifies 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 of products, important and critical products. Important products include a number of cybersecurity solutions, but also some categories of smart home devices. Critical products are instead identified considering whether they might have an impact on NIS2 organizations. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗥𝗔 on the open-source software and impacts of the open-source software on the products within the perimeter of the CRA. One of the trickiest points of the act. Basically, the CRA doesn't impact software that is not monetized. 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 for the products with digital elements. Basically, an approach that natively includes security in the development process, followed by a vulnerability management and disclosure process, to inform promptly all the relevant stakeholders when a product is affected by a vulnerability. It was an excellent start with good interaction to deepen the practical implications of CRA.
