A relative of George Santos, who has asked reporters not to reveal their name, says that they were "shocked" to learn they donated $5,800 to Santos' campaign and they insist they never actually made the donation. This just deepens Santos' legal woes, and if even one person is willing to testify to regulators that the donation was fraudulent, it could end Santos right now. Republican Congressman George Santos has even more campaign finance woes to look forward to this week. Mother Jones reported as part of, I guess, their ongoing series about George Santo's, uh, fictitious campaign donors. This week they talk to an individual who happens to be a relative of George Santos. And this relative who chose to remain nameless, you know, for reporters, um, is listed as having given $5,800 to Santo's Congressional campaign, the maximum legal limit that an individual's allowed to give. So when Mother Jones reached out to this family member and said, Hey, uh, you know, Santo's cousin or whoever you may be, uh, you gave $5,800 to the campaign, so let's just, and then the family member's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I didn't give money to his campaign. Why are you saying I gave money to his campaign? Well, because you're listed in this FEC filing, you're listed in federal filings as having given $5,800. The family member says, I never did that. So what we are looking at here, and again, we talked about this last weekend. Mother Jones had gone through, tried to locate some of these donors listed on the forms and as far as they can tell, those people didn't exist. So now we've got people that don't exist that allegedly gave money to the campaign cuz they're listed on the filing. We've got people listed on the filing as given money who do exist, but say they didn't give money. I think George Santos is gonna be in prison. Um, I think he's gonna be in prison for quite a long time and I think he's probably gonna be in prison pretty soon. I have to imagine at this point, given what we know, given this information, this overwhelming evidence, I think by the end of this term of Congress, you know, so 2024, I believe by the time the next election rolls around, George Santos will have already been convicted and either currently in prison or awaiting sentencing. That's, that's what, that's what we're looking at right now. I mean, mother Jones has already done all the legwork for the investigators. We know that there is an investigation in Nassau County, we know there is a state investigation in New York. We know that there is a DOJ investigation, and by the way, all three of those revolve around the campaign finance issues. Then of course, we got the thing down there in Brazil where he already told police, yes, I did the thing. Uh, he doesn't make it. Santos does not make it out of this first term. Republicans and Santos, by the way, this week, in case you didn't notice, he did step off of his committees while the investigations are ongoing. That to me is the first sign of him Being like, the walls are closing in. You know, I, I cannot continue to fight this. It's getting bad. I gotta go. So he may already be planning an exit. We know that a lot of his staffers are already trying to plan their exits. They just can't find a place to get out. But this new evidence listing an individual as having given money to your campaign, that individual publicly saying, although anonymously, but publicly saying I didn't do that. All it takes is one. All it takes is for one individual listed on that campaign finance report to go to investigators and say, I didn't give him money. He says, I did. I didn't. This is illegal. I'm your witness. Let's do this. You don't have to have a dozen, you don't have to have five. All you need is one, and especially when we're talking about a situation like this. When you find one, you're probably gonna find some others as well. Santo's days are numbered and I think at this point Santos himself understands that.
