Every Christmas in our house starts the same way, and it’s one of my favorite traditions we have. We get up early, make coffee, and normally my husband and I head out together to wash eggs while the house slowly wakes up. This year, though, he let me stay home so I could get breakfast going, which I definitely appreciated. Christmas mornings are busy, but they’re also so special. Before we open any presents, we always gather together and read the Christmas story. That’s something we never skip. This year was extra meaningful because Joshua read it, and it was such a sweet moment to slow down and remember what the day is really about. After that, we start opening presents while drinking coffee, laughing, and enjoying being together. Once the first round of presents is done, we take a little break to clean up all the wrapping paper, straighten up, and then it’s finally time for one of our favorite parts of the morning — breakfast. Every Christmas morning, I make breakfast pizzas, and it’s just one of those things that wouldn’t feel like Christmas without it. We all sit down, eat together, relax for a bit, and then get back to opening more presents, refilling our coffee cups, and enjoying the morning. The rest of the day was very low-key, which honestly felt so nice. We watched some football, rested, and just enjoyed being home. This year was especially busy for all of us, so we decided to keep Christmas dinner simple. I put a ham in the Nesco with carrots, onions, and potatoes. Hailey and I made the Red Lobster Brussels sprouts, and Madisyn made a corn casserole. It wasn’t fancy, but it was delicious and perfect for how tired we all were. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were both very relaxed this year. Normally, I plan lots of games and activities, but the kids were exhausted, and after such a busy year, it felt good to slow down. We played a few board games, watched Christmas shows, talked, laughed, and just enjoyed each other’s company. It really was such a nice, peaceful holiday, and those are the moments I’m most thankful for. Thank you so much for being here and spending a little bit of our Christmas with us.
