Start releasing the hips, pelvis, and spine with this routine!

I wanted to give people a basic simple routine to start improving the alignment of their body and restore how the muscles function with the improved alignment. There is a really long hip flexor release position that can give you a lot of information based on how you experience it. You'll be able to spend more time assessing and feeling how the legs might be working entirely differently based on how you feel in that position. Typically, one of a few things will happen when you're in this position... 1) you will feel the hip flexor lengthening to its proper resting position and the long hip stretch will be great/restorative. This is a positive sign to continue doing this routine. 2) you won't feel anything really happening. That's not to say nothing is happening, you just might not be fully aware of it at this moment. Often times when movement dysfunction is present, the nerves aren't able to properly communicate with the muscles, and vice versa, the sensory feedback from the muscles to the nerves is also affected. If you truly feel nothing happening here - give yourself at least a few more practice times with this full routine. You just might need to spend more time with it to tap into what's actually happening here. 3) it's uncomfortable to lay in this position. First of all, I don't want you to force your way through the pain. If it's uncomfortable, then hold off on doing this. More importantly, let's look at WHY it's uncomfortable. Typically with this specific position, you are asking the hip to extend, the pelvic and lower back position to change. If those joints or muscles haven't had proper movement in weeks, months, years, or decades, you are technically asking muscles and joints to move that don't know how. The level of your discomfort is a sign of the level of dysfunction. The more discomfort, the less your joints are able to move, hence the uncomfortable feeling when they actually do. It's entirely up to you based on how you feel if you want to stick with this for a few more days and observe if this routine starts to feel better (because dysfunction is being restored), or if you'd rather find other routines in my online program that can help you work on dysfunction in a more gentle way.
