HomeTeam Hero - 006 - Alex Kannok-Leipert
Alex Kannok – Leipert is a 21-year-old hockey player for the Abbotsford Canucks, the affiliate team of the Vancouver Canucks. Originally born in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, Alex moved to Regina and quickly became turning heads on the ice. His exceptional bantam hockey career got him ready for the U18 ranks, where he won the SMAAAHL Top Defenceman award by scoring the most points by a D-man, helping his Regina Pat Canadians win a league championship. After his U18 career, he had an exceptional career with the Vancouver Giants of the WHL, where he wore the captains “C” for 2 seasons. After being drafted in the 6th round of the 2018 NHL draft, Alex became the first Thai born player drafted to the NHL, and is now the first Thai born player to play in the American Hockey League.
