'My Dixie Darling' Carter Family cover by Greenshine for Mick Crowley's 10th anniversary.

This is a beautiful tribute to the late Michael Crowley on his 10th anniversary from Cork folk group Greenshine - "The members of Greenshine have a long association with Crowleys of Cork. Before I moved to the city, Noel Shine told me about this wonderfully welcoming man called Mick who ran a great music shop. It was one of the first places I went when I first set foot in Cork. What an Aladdin's cave. Crowley's was a safe place for musicians of all levels and the one thing Mick was known for was his sound attitude towards young musicians. He welcomed all with the greatest respect and good humour and everyone knows the story of how Rory Gallagher got his first electric from Mick Crowley, which he paid for in instalments as befitted a young guitarist's pocket. When Ellie was interested in taking up the uke, it was, of course, to Crowleys we came and she got the most beautiful instrument at a very good price which she loves and plays to this day. Mick, and indeed Crowley's shop is very sadly missed. We're delighted to do the Carter Family song, 'My Dixie Darling' to celebrate life in harmony with the music."
