🐄🌾 From Ranch to Market: The Process of Selling Angus Calves 🌾🐄 Join us on our journey from ranch to market as we take you through the process of selling our Angus calves. Today, we're taking our cattle to the livestock market in Belle Fourche, SD. But before we get there, we'll stop at the feed mill to get our special non-grain mix made and pick up some flax buckets. 🚜🌾🐂 Our custom feed blend is what sets us apart. We don't feed our cattle any grain; instead, we opt for a 30% alfalfa pellet, 10% crushed wax, 10% whole flax fibrous, 20% black sunflower seeds, and 10% molasses mix. We also give them flax mineral tubs, which are regular mineral supplements that add more flax oil to their diet, helping them with their coat and overall health. It puts quite a bit of weight on them, too, making them much healthier than grain-fed cattle. The omega-3 fatty acid content in the meat that we get from these cattle is significantly higher, making for a healthier and more delicious product. 🌿🍖🤤 Once we get to the market, we'll see what the market prices are for our cattle. This will give us an idea of what we can expect to get for them and whether it was worth the trip. While we wait for the auction to start, we'll let our cattle rest and grab some lunch. 🍔🐄💤 After we sell our cattle, we'll head back to the ranch, but not before stopping by the feed mill to pick up some more feed and flax buckets. Our black sunflower seed mix is an excellent source of protein and gives our cattle the necessary nutrients they need to grow healthy and strong. We also feed them muggly great grass-based cake, which is an excellent source of nutrition. 🌱🐂🍽️ Once we're back on the ranch, we'll unload the feed and flax mineral tubs and move our breeding herd up to the front pasture. We'll also move our horses to the second pasture and let them out with access to the barn. Today, we're letting our sheep out to graze. We'll put them in a fenced area and keep a close eye on them. We're using sheet metals to protect them from predators, and hopefully, this will also help train our dog to watch over them. 🐑🐎🐕🌳 In conclusion, raising cattle takes a lot of hard work, but it's a labor of love. We believe that raising grass-fed cattle is not only better for the animals but also better for the environment. By providing our cattle with the best nutrition possible, we're ensuring that they're healthy and happy. And by selling them at the market, we're providing the community with a delicious and nutritious product that they can feel good about consuming. 🌿🐄🥩 🎥 Watch our video about "Taking Calves to the Livestock Market & Going to the Mill" 🎬Check out our campsite and follow us on the ranch!! https://campsite.to/wyowagyu Purchase our Wagyu Beef directly from our Ranch shipped right to your door!! www.realwagyubeef.com Chapter 1: Taking Angus Calves to Belle Fourche Livestock Market 00:00 Taking Angus calves to Belle Fourche livestock market Chapter 2: Preparing Feed and Traveling to Auctions 02:42 Preparing feed and traveling to auctions 04:24 Picking up baby cats for auction 05:57 Custom feed blend for grain-free diet Chapter 3: Benefits of Consuming Omega-3 Fatty Acid Rich Meat and Dairy 07:15 Benefits of consuming omega-3 fatty acid rich meat and dairy Chapter 4: Protecting Sheep from Predators 08:16 Protecting sheep from predators Chapter 5: Cows Being Herded with Music 09:03 Cows being herded with music Chapter 6: Feeding Sheep and Letting Them Graze in the Field 13:03 Feeding sheep and letting them graze in the field #ranchlife,#cattlefarming,#livestockmarket,#grassfedbeef,#farmlife,#agriculture #lambing #ranching #ranchlife #wagyu #homesteading #lambing #farmsteading #grassfed #youtube #business #wyoming #youtube #tractor #livingoutwest #westernlifestyle #johndeere #tires
