Joyrider’s Journeys is a brand new series from LeBlanq, shining the spotlight on iconic names from the world of cycling and giving them the space to tell their story completely unfiltered. From Olympic gold medallists to national champions and yellow jersey winners, the series explores the powerful, often untold transition from elite sport to life beyond the finish line. In this episode, the focus turns to Adam Blythe. From Yorkshire roads to the biggest stage races in the world, Blythe’s story is pure British grit with unmistakable style. Born in South Yorkshire, he burst onto the scene as a fearless young talent with a fast sprint and an even bigger personality. He quickly made his mark in Europe, racking up wins across Belgium and the Netherlands, proving he wasn’t just another hopeful, but a serious finisher. His palmarès includes standout victories at the RideLondon–Surrey Classic in 2014, where he out-sprinted the field on home roads in front of huge crowds, as well as wins at Binche–Chimay–Binche and the overall title at the Circuit Franco-Belge. In 2016, he added one of the sport’s greatest honours to his name, becoming British National Road Race Champion, earning the right to wear the coveted national champion’s jersey. Over the years, he rode for major teams including Omega Pharma–Lotto and Orica–GreenEDGE, lining up at the Vuelta a España and the Tour de France. Known for his punchy sprint and aggressive racing style, Blythe thrived in the chaos of the classics. After hanging up the racing wheels, Blythe seamlessly transitioned into broadcasting, becoming a fan-favourite pundit with Eurosport and GCN. With humour, honesty, and sharp insight from inside the peloton, he’s become one of cycling’s most engaging voices. Poof that his influence on the sport didn’t stop at the finish line. Joyrider’s Journeys reveals the man behind the medals, the wins, the setbacks, and the journey to becoming a Joyrider.
