Finally Able to Leave | Living Off Grid on a Sailboat

After a great summer off-grid and a few hiccups with our initial departure (thanks to several hundred pounds of muscles slowing us down!), we were finally able to cast-off our mooring and head to a layover anchorage on our way home to the docks for the winter. Join us on the first leg of a sunny, peaceful journey home - we were lucky enough to pass by a regatta, and it was great to see lots of sailboats out on the water, even as the weather is getting colder in the Pacific Northwest. We also got a little bit close to some large commercial traffic, but also cool to see the big vessels at work, especially through relatively narrow inter-island waterways! We finished the sail with a forest walk and some hot food to keep the chill off in the October air.
