Learn Ancient Greek through Comprehensible Input! Ancient Greek in Action teaches you the language entirely through the medium of Ancient Greek, an approach called Comprehensible Input. By watching every video in this series in order, you should be able to understand everything after watching a video two or three times. In this way, you will build a strong foundation in Ancient Greek. Ancient Greek includes both Classical Attic Greek and Biblical Koine Greek. 🏺 🐢 ANCIENT GREEK IN ACTION 🦉 by Luke Amadeus Ranieri 🦂 Λούκιος Θεόφιλος Ῥᾱνιήριος In this video, the only words you need to acquire are the future, present, and simple-past of the verbs of throwing, running, going up, and going down, which are printed on the screen. Other words are uttered in the video which are not essential to acquire at this time; merely concern yourself with learning by heart the forms "I will throw, I throw, I threw," etc. Once you have seen this video enough times, repeat these verbs from memory every time you throw something, run, or climb or descend stairs. Find opportunities to use these verbs, joining your utterances to physical actions that will ingrain them into long-term memory. The full script, while unnecessary for the scope of this video as a Comprehensible Input tool, is available for my Patreon supporters: / 140905128 Pronunciation notes for our Greek friends (see below for English*): 🇬🇷 😊 *The pronunciation you hear is Classical Attic of the 5th to 4th centuries BC, which I feel to be the most useful for the broadest of paedagogical applications. However, I naturally support individuals' decisions to employ different pronunciations in their own practice. Σημείωσαι: This is a reboot of the AGIA series which originally ran for twelve episodes from 2020-2021. Those videos were designed to prepare the viewer to read chapter 1 of Athenaze. The new incarnation of the series will follow a paedagogical trajectory independent of any other book or course. The scope of the new AGIA is to help the viewer acquire the Ancient Greek language primarily through auditory and visual context with the goal of rendering key points of each episode being fully comprehensible input. The intent is for the viewer to form an internal representation of Ancient Greek that builds a foundation of fluency in listening, and, as a consequence, in reading.
