As of the end of November 2025, the construction of the Chhak Angre Krom–Prek Pra Bridge across the Bassac River has reached 53% completion. According to project updates, the girder launching process, carried out from November 29 to December 1, caused temporary traffic congestion, especially near the construction zone close to ACE school. Based on the project’s construction schedule, overall progress remains on track with no delays compared to the original work plan. The bridge is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2027 and will serve as a key infrastructure development for Phnom Penh. Once completed, the Chhak Angre Krom–Prek Pra Bridge will reduce traffic congestion on the Preah Monivong Bridge and surrounding southern areas of the capital. It will improve traffic connectivity to National Road 1 and the Chbar Ampov district, strengthen socio-economic links between southern Phnom Penh, Takhmao city, and the new Techo International Airport. Moreover, it will enhance transportation and logistics efficiency across Phnom Penh and along the Bassac River corridor, accelerating urban development in emerging areas around the southern part of the city. This bridge is expected to become an important public infrastructure asset that will improve mobility, support economic growth, and contribute to the sustainable development of Phnom Penh.
