In March 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming Knut Ingolf Dragset (Regional Sales Manager for Asia, Pacific, and Latin America, and Global Tech & Sales Support Manager) and Josh Hoffman (Regional Sales Manager & Brand Representative for the USA) from Geno to New Zealand for the Norwegian Red Roadshow Tour. This exciting tour featured seven events across the country, where Knut provided an insightful introduction to Geno, the Norwegian Red cow, and Geno’s breeding program. He highlighted significant progress in udder conformation, the breed's moderate size with high feed efficiency and outstanding fertility, and the genomic reliability of young bulls, as well as the Norwegian Red's suitability for grazing. Josh shared his valuable experience with crossbreeding Norwegian Reds in a large grazing-based dairy operation in the USA, presenting an intriguing dataset on the breed's performance. His discussions covered crucial topics such as milk production, peak milk, fertility of dairy cows and heifers, and transition data.
