Braehead Clan took the points and kept a shutout as they defeated Fife Flyers 3-0 at home in the second part of their weekend double header. Just 24 hours after Fife overcame a two-goal deficit to snatch victory, Braehead were on a mission to make sure that didn’t happen again. They got the best possible start as Stefan Meyer got the final touch on a chance from Ric Jackman that flashed into the crease. Then the forward took advantage of an error by Fife to round David Brown in the Flyers’ goal to make it 2-0 by the end of the first period. Chances were exchanged at either end during the second period, but both sides weren’t to be breached in a more low key middle session. However Ben Davies was brought down as he tore up the ice on Brown, with Clan receiving the penalty shot and it was the Welshmen who showed great composure to finish. Fife huffed and puffed in the third period, but couldn’t find their way past net minder Chris Holt, who posted another home shutout as the Clan claimed victory over their Gardiner Conference rivals.
