or 'How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Skip Modern Warfare III' Playing the Modern Warfare III Beta legitimately made me feel like I was playing one of those Modern Combat games made for the iPad back in the day. The sound design is awful and the graphics look worse than the original MW2. It just made me want to go back and play the actual Modern Warfare 2, not some knock-off nostalgia bait resold to us. The game feels so unfinished, it's so obvious they're hoping everyone will just be too distracted by these "remastered" Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps to care. Curious that Activision killed IW4x and sm2 so now I practically HAVE to buy MWIII if I want to play these old maps again (even though I won't be buying it). Sledgehammer yet again proving they can't make a good video game! The creator of the Doge Last Tiger Battlefield V Meme Parody returns for a funny Call of Duty Modern Warfare II 2022 Gameplay Walkthrough Review 1 Year Later, and going In-Depth to compare the MWII reboot with the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 released in 2009. Call of Duty Modern Warfare III 2023 is just around the corner, in a turn of events reminiscent of the lead-up to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 back in 2011. Utilizing gameplay footage in 1080p, 1440p, and in some cases 4K resolutions. First delving into the campaign following Task Force 141 including the iconic Simon “Ghost” Riley, John “Soap” McTavish, Kyle “Gaz” AKA "Jake-from-State-Farm" Gerrick, and Captain John Price. Task Force 141 teams up with Shadow Company led by General Shepherd and Commander Phillip Graves, while assisting the Mexican Special Forces Los Vaqueros led by Alejandro Vargas to root out sicarios in Las Almas. The Task Force uses an AC-130 Gunship in their hunt for an Iraqi Officer by the name of Hassan Zayani (portrayed by Hasan Piker AKA ‘hasanabi’) who has stolen three American cruise missiles. The story as a whole is much more enjoyable than the one present in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019, but the missions are plagued by Armored Enemies and not a lot of big battles like Contingency, Wolverines, or Exodus. The Original Soundtrack by Sarah Schachner is really good too even if it can’t hold a candle to Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe’s work with the Modern Warfare 2 2009 OST. Call of Duty Modern Warfare II also adds Raids, much like those seen with missions such as King’s Fall in Destiny 2. Warzone returns with Al Mazrah, Ashika Island and Vondel, as opposed to Rebirth Island, Verdansk, and Caldera from the original Warzone in 2020. DMZ is added as a casual competitor to Escape From Tarkov and other hardcore tactical FPS extraction shooters. Proximity Chat calls back to the memories of the old days of toxic MW2 lobbies. Call of Duty Multiplayer is where problems arise: while the gameplay is as fun as ever with gunsmith and tuning, the microtransaction store with CoD Points and cosmetic bundles is getting out of hand as Activision has begun collaborating with The Boys’ Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir, in addition to Spawn. This degradation of the modern military aesthetic is tragic to see as Battle Pass content continues to be crunched out with cosmetic options that would fit more into a game like Fortnite or Apex Legends as opposed to something like Call of Duty. Call of Duty used to have to compete with Battlefield and Halo, but now that Battlefield 2042 and Halo Infinite have lost steam, Call of Duty doesn’t need to bother trying to stay ahead. Ubisoft’s XDefiant has been delayed indefinitely as Modern Warfare III looms on the horizon with Open-World Missions using Armor and Self-Revives. The Zombies mode also seems very uninspired, carrying on from Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s Outbreak mode. While not as bad as Call of Duty Vanguard, Modern Warfare III 2023 spells worry for Call of Duty on its 20 Year Anniversary. It’s bringing back classic Modern Warfare 2 maps that were supposed to be relegated to Modern Warfare II as DLC while peddling BlackCell and a $70 to $100 Price Tag. Sad! Hopefully Microsoft’s new acquisition of Activision leads to an improvement in the handling of the Call of Duty franchise now that Bobby Kotick is slated to leave the company.
