The axillary nerve can be at risk, so sensory function in the regimental badge area should be assessed. Diagnosis is typically confirmed with an anteroposterior X-ray, which shows the humeral head out of the glenoid fossa. Treatment involves reduction of the dislocation, often with sedation and specific maneuvers like the Kocher or Hippocratic method, followed by immobilization and physiotherapy.
